I know why the caged soul cries

Bound by the earth unable to fly

It’s scared to seek a rebirth

To get filled with the spirit

And not with things of the earth

I even know why the caged soul dies

It’s heart growing heavy

From the burdens it holds

It’s leaning to its own understanding

And gathering strength from the earth

Not seeking a spirit and a new birth

I know why there is failure in the caged soul tries

Its investments are worldly

Not in spiritual ties

Caught up in an airless wind

Bound to fall from the sky

I know why and it’s as simple as this

The word Savior is what the caged soul miss
